Redoing the kitchen pantry

Kim and I decided to try to get better organized to start out 2008. One of the first things we wanted to tackle first was the pantry in the kitchen. Is is 2 feet deep, and the shelves that were in there extended the full depth, which made it really difficult to see what was on each shelf. We went to the Container Store and got some of their Elfa shelving. Then we emptied the pantry, ripped out the old shelves, repainted the interior, mounted the new shelves and door racks and restocked the pantry.

We took some pictures to show our progress. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture of what the pantry looked like before we started, but here are a few while the project was in progress and how it looks now that we're finished.

Here is about half of the contents of the pantry spread out on the dining room table:

Here I am assembling the shelves in the living room:

Here is the pantry with the shelves mounted as we got started organizing the spices on the door rack:

Finally, here is what the pantry looks like with the project completed:

Only four containers of Nutella? :)

The pantry looks awesome now! Much improved over the old.

Nice - I was wondering if anyone would notice all the Nutella we stocked up on. They haven't had it at Costco for a couple of years but we found it there last weekend so we had to get some, and they only sell them in giant 2 packs. :-)

I was going to comment about the Nutella too (~_^). And nice pants.

The pantry does look awesome! I'm jealous! I re-org-ed my pantry once but it has since re-descended into chaos. I think it's natural pantry-entropy. I may just leave well enough alone.
