Yesterday, the snow was supposed to hit during morning rush hour so a lot of schools were closed and folks stayed home from work just in case. Those of us that did go to work sat around waiting for the blizzard to arrive. Around 4:30pm, I got a call from Kim (who was working from home because she has had to sit on the bus for 3+ hours in snowstorms in the past) saying that it had started icing and snowing at the house and that I better get home. I left work about 5pm and the roads around the house were already covered by the time I got home.
When we went to bed last night, we had about 3 inches of snow on the ground, but it had stopped snowing. Then, we woke up this morning and there were about 2 more inches, so we decided to stay home. We didn't have cable or internet until about 11am, and it kept snowing all morning. It is about 2:30pm now, and it is still snowing here a bit, and we're up to about 8-9 inches.
Everything is so beautiful and quiet and peaceful - I love the snow!
Here are some pictures from earlier this morning. I'm about to put on my ski gear and head out to take some more pictures too.

You bet it's beautiful, I'm wit' ya on that. And listening to kids sliding behind our house -- or sliding with 'em -- is a riot. What I really like is that it lasts but a short while ... when I think of the 5 months of snow/yr (200" +) that we left behind when we moved here, I can't stop that dopey grin on my face ...
