Here's a picture of daddy and son in NICU:

Here's a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Glanzman meeting their first grandchild:

Here's Zach being weighed just after birth - 7 pounds, 4.6 ounces is pretty good for being nearly 4 weeks premature!

For those of you who read our previous blog post with the description of our saga so far this week, here is a continuation:
Yesterday, they took Kim off of the IV and stopped 24 hour fetal monitoring. They still monitored for an hour at a time, 3 times a day. The first hour was during the afternoon, and things went great. The second hour was after dinner, and Zach had some dips in his fetal heart rate, so they decided to leave the monitor on for a while and keep an eye on things. He had a few more dips, one of which was pretty serious, so they decided to move us down from the 4th floor monitoring area to the 2nd floor delivery area so we'd be closer to where we'd need to be if something happened. After a couple more heart rate dips on the 2nd floor, they decided to schedule a C-section. After some paperwork and preparation work, we were off to the OR. Kim got a spinal block and they brought Zach out into the world. She did an amazing job, and is recovering and resting now.
After cleaning Zach up, he and daddy went up to the NICU (because he was 36 weeks and 2 days along, so he's technically considered premature since he's less than 37 weeks). They strapped some monitors to Zach to keep an eye on his vitals, and warmed him while dad lent moral support and took lots of pictures. He got a bottle because his blood sugar was a bit low. Grandma and Grandpa Glanzman came to meet him after checking on Kim in her recovery room.
After Zach's blood sugar level got high enough, daddy, grandma, grandpa and Zach got to go downstairs to rejoin mommy for some cuddling and bonding time. Mom, Dad and baby are resting and catching up after a stressful, sleepless night.
