(Part 1) What a perfect day to...

pour concrete! Or not! We invited my dad over (the resident expert in everything) to help us pour concrete to make a path. We want a path to go from the steps on both sides of the back deck (for those of you who have seen our deck, it covers the entire back-side of the house) to the gate and on the right side (if facing the house) all the way to the drive-way. That's 100 feet long...which calculated to over 2 tons of concrete! So we had that delivered on Friday and my parents came over to help and bring a cement mixer. The weather did not cooperate for us. The first part went ok, it was only drizzling, but a few hours later it was pouring rain.

Here is what the area looked before (with the ground all rotatillered and leveled).

Aaron was our mixologist, water and cement bag hauler. It was a very tough job and he did it perfectly!

Dad and I crawled around in the mud to pound and smooth each set.

We got about 2/3 done in one day.
